Avanton Introduces New Generation Of ReadyARM Network Security Appliance, Offering SMBs Greater Protection

RALEIGH, NC, October 3, 2005 Avanton, Inc. (www.avanton.com), an emerging presence in securing computer networks and corporate-critical data for small and mid-sized businesses, today announced the immediate availability of the latest version of its ReadyARM™ network security appliance, giving small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) additional protection against unauthorized access to their computer networks at an industry-leading price point of less than $10,000.

Avanton's ReadyARM version 2.0 includes a significant range of improvements, including:

• An improved notification engine;
• A new SNMP trap receiver;
• An integrated syslog receiver;
• "Top talker" capabilities, allowing administrators to determine which IP addresses are using the most bandwidth; and
• Enhanced notification, including native RSS, PDF and email.

At the same time, ReadyARM maintains much of the functionality that has generated significant industry interest among companies with limited IT staffs, including the ability to fully install the unit within two hours, as well as automatically generate reports that demonstrate compliance with a wide range of government regulations, including HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley and more.
